Alex Jeffrey’s Coaching: Week 4 Social Media Money
Hello
"Social Media Money" is the first module where we will be starting to learn how to drive traffic. Alex stressed that if anyone skips this module then 90% will underachieve.
But first a great incentive was offered to get us to get things rolling. A competition to see who could get the most traffic to our blogs by the 14th of August 2009 in which Alex would pay $1000 to the winner from his own pocket. Talk about getting people motivated who else would do that?
Now obviously by the time you read this the competition is over, but we are actually still awaiting the winner to be announced and I will try and share this when they become available.
The rules where as follows;
- You must put on your blog how your driving traffic.
- Must install google analytics not only so it can be seen where the traffic is coming, but to show your statistics for the 2 week period.
Now I have been making some efforts, but I never entered, again because of the problems I had, but let me assure you I am going to be hitting this hard throughout the next coming weeks and will share my results.
Alex touched on what was talked about in the last coaching module basically to leave comments on other fellow student blogs and also other blogs with high PR’s.
I will post more info on this in the coming weeks!!
Blogging Might Sound Like Hard Work But Its Not!!!
- 80% of your efforts will drive 20% of your traffic.
- 20% of your efforts will drive 80% of your traffic.
Its all about trying to find and monitor what least effort your making which brings the highest amount of traffic.
KEYWORDS: These should be implemeted into your blog posts even if it means taking an extra 5m for your posts. Alex doesn’t do any keyword research when he blogs, but remeber his business is already built up he has active readers by the thousands. I promise I will try and get some videos or posts up about how to do keyword research. Its on my to do list.
TRAFFIC METHODS: Ok I plan to put up a category dedicated to this so you can see what I am doing to drive traffic to this blog, but in the meantime heres the best ways to drive traffic, suggested from the man himself;
- Posting on other blogs.
- Give aways (Free products).
- Once you have a list you can drive to new blog posts.
- Twitter. This is new to me but will take the dive in due course.
- You Tube. Heard about this before so will be taking steps to get a video on it (em, eventually a few, quite a few, lol).
- Review what other blogs, related to driving traffic are doing to drive traffic.
- Your own methods if you know any (I might but they could be the same as whats in the next coaching modules, will wait and see whats to come before going into these).
That about wraps it up for this module again I’ll keep you updated on what methods I am using to drive traffic as when I started Alex program my visitors where 0. So hopefully when the traffic comes in I can show you my google analytics account.
"Remember All The Big Guns Started With Zero Traffic. The Hardest & Most Effort From Driving Traffic Comes When Your Starting Out, After That It Should Be On Autopilot"
I would love to hear your best ways to drive traffic to your website!!!
Please as always feel free to share this is your space too
!!
Until next time, Graeme!

Hi Graeme,
Like you I’m pretty keen to learn about the 20% of blogging effort that will bring in 80% of rewards.
I’m currently looking at other AJ students and commenting on their blogs. This definately achieves some traffic, but I need to reach outside our community to improve the numbers.
In the webinar last night Rich Schefren talked about finding your customers pain, so I’m going to visit a few forums’s to see what people are talking about.
Petra Weiss http://www.petra-weiss.com also had some good ideas about visiting Yahoo Answers and Yedda.com
Keep in touch and let me know what tactics are working for you.

Hi I’m Trevor
Twiter ID: Trevor_T_Jones
I am a student of Alex Jeffreys I have been looking around at fellow students blogs and came across yours. Definitely one of the best. I felt I had to leave a comment because your blog is simply, so inspirational and informative, It has given me hope and ideas to better mine.
It is so clean and fresh looking. I am always worried I overdo it myself, to much content you know. Your blog is just right. I would appreciate if you would pass comment on mine just to confirm I haven’t overdone it. On my blog I am doing a theme on successful internet marketers. Really like to know what you think as I am pretty new to all this layout stuff. I hope one day that I can write about your internet success. Keep up the good work
Rgds Trevor

Hey maybe we could follow each other on twitter.
Hi Graeme,
Well you were certainly listening and taking notes weren’t you?
Social media traffic is the future my friend and I’m going to be doing a lot more videos on you tube.
Now I’ve figured out how to enbed them into my blog, it’s a method I feel comfortable with. The only negative though, is that it can sometimes be a bit time consumming.
Great summary and good advice to anyone reading.
Keep in touch,
Andrew.
Thanks Andrew
I have yet to do a video. Will do soon as I signed up for traffic geyser.
See U Later

Hi Graeme,
I need to keep reminding myself on that last line:
“Remember All The Big Guns Started With Zero Traffic. The Hardest & Most Effort From Driving Traffic Comes When Your Starting Out, After That It Should Be On Autopilot”
Everyone has to start out somewhere, and if I continously put in hard work in the beginning it will pay off in the end. So far I have just been commenting on blogs, I haven’t jumped into creating videos and Youtube yet. That is next on the list! That and writing some articles.
Take Care, Heidi

Graeme,
Traffic… hmmmm yes, its a bit of work but, I don’t rely on it to make money online.
I do something that’s guaranteed to work in the meantime.
